After years of inactivity and poor eating habits, I knew I needed a change. I started my fitness journey weighing 315 pounds. After just a month of committing to my workouts and nutrition, I lost 20 pounds — but that was just the beginning.

Through years of building healthier habits and learning to actually enjoy fitness, I transformed my body and mindset.

But in 2016, life threw me a curveball. I was diagnosed with a rare neck mass called a carotid body tumor. The surgery to remove it came with serious complications — severed nerves, chronic pain, and months of relearning how to swallow, speak, and live with a new reality.

With so much of my health out of my control, I made a choice — to focus on what I could control. I turned back to fitness, not just to rebuild my strength, but to rebuild my confidence, resilience, and sense of control over my life.

That experience completely changed how I view fitness — it’s not just about weight loss or workouts. True transformation comes when you shift your mindset. Fitness becomes a tool for building strength, not just in your body, but in your confidence, habits, and ability to face life’s challenges head-on.

That’s exactly why I created Geared Fitness — to help beginners and everyday gym-goers shift gears, break through self-doubt, and build fitness habits that empower them for life. Whether you’re just getting started, feeling stuck, or ready to finally create sustainable habits, I’m here to help you build strength, confidence, and a healthy mindset — one workout at a time.
